Elizabeth is a city with a population of more than 120,000 residents, making it the fourth largest in the state of New Jersey. In addition to its famous shopping malls and historical buildings, Elizabeth is also home to 46 parks, making it a popular destination for urban-minded outdoorsmen who enjoy hiking, cycling and fishing. With its diverse ethnic population, Elizabeth is home to a number of quality Spanish restaurants.

Mangos Lounge and Restaurant

Mangos Lounge and Restaurant offers up specialties not only from Spain, but also Latin America, and live entertainment in a tropical atmosphere. Some of the savory dishes here include fish fillets, avocado salad, mango cheesecake and strawberry chocolate. For kids, there is a menu featuring all American favorites, such as chicken nuggets with french fries, hamburgers and chicken parmesan. Mangos opens its doors Sunday through Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Manolo's Restaurant

This old-fashioned Spanish restaurant has received rave reviews from the likes of the "Star-Ledger." Popular dishes include the grilled pepper crusted pork filet, Paella Marinara, Enchilado with jumbo shrimp and chicken in garlic sauce with Spanish potatoes. The lunch menu includes such offerings as pan roasted red snapper fillet with mixed peppercorn butter, and comes with choice of the soup of the day or a mesclun salad. Manolo's Restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on the weekends from noon to 10 p.m.

Tapas of Spain Restaurant Bar & Lounge

This authentic Spanish restaurant offers a variety of lunch and dinner specials. Popular menu items include Manchego cheese, Paella Valenciana (a seafood lover's delight, with lobster, clams, mussels, shrimps, scallops, squid chicken and Spanish sausage in saffron rice) and pork chops in garlic sauce. Kids can choose between mozzarella sticks or chicken fingers, both of which come with french fries. Tapas features live music and DJs on the weekends, and there are banquet rooms and private halls available for rental for special events. Tapas of Spain Restaurant Bar & Lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. the rest of the week.
