Odd Restaurants in Niagara Falls, New York
Niagara Falls, New York, offers one of the most well-known attractions in North America. Visitors can stroll along the falls, experience the Maid of the Mist tour or venture under the falls on a guided tour. Although there are plenty of chain restaurants available in Niagara Falls, there are also locally owned eateries that offer a more unusual dining experience.

Top of the Falls Restaurant

Guests who want to experience Niagara Falls will find few closer spots than the Top of the Falls Restaurant, located in Niagara Falls State Park on Goat Island. The dining room, perched atop Horseshoe Falls, provides floor to ceiling windows with views of the falls. Adventurous guests can dine on one of the outdoor decks. While the location is unusual, the menu offers familiar fare such as buffalo wings, spinach and artichoke dip, burgers and steaks. There are also several vegetarian options, including vegetable lasagna, grilled portobello mushrooms with coconut chili sauce, pasta primavera and portobello sandwiches.

Gadawski's

Gadawski's is a small restaurant and tavern near the Niagara Casino. Here, Polish cuisine and Guinness beer are served side by side. The owner has decorated the restaurant with Notre Dame Fighting Irish gear and memorabilia, and the walls are lined with pictures of famous athletes who have visited the restaurant. Gadawski's is known for its homemade macaroni and cheese, Polish sausage, pierogies and golombki. The restaurant is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday, and for dinner on Friday evenings.

Justin Tyme on the River

Although Justin Tyme on the River is billed as a family restaurant, it is better known for its NASCAR theme. NASCAR members receive several perks at this restaurant, including meal and drink discounts during races. The menu features appetizers such as bacon cheese fries, chicken wings and deep fried mushrooms. There are also several types of burgers to choose from, as well as wraps, meatloaf, beer battered fish, breaded shrimp and liver and onions. Justin Tyme on the River also serves breakfast items such as omelets, breakfast sandwiches and hotcakes. As of January 2010, this restaurant is closed Mondays and is open for lunch only on Sundays. Lunch and dinner are served Tuesday through Saturday.
