Pat's King of Steaks
What South Philadelphia experience would be complete without a cheesesteak and a visit to Pat's King of Steaks? Founded by Pat Olivieri in 1930, Pat's claims to be the inventor of the steak sandwich. These delicious delights can be ordered with onions as well as cheese. All locals strongly suggest getting the sandwich with Cheese-whiz, as nothing else even comes close. Pat's is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, although it does close on major holidays. A cheese steak with all the trimmings will set diners back about $6.
