Located in northwest Vermont, the town of Alburgh is a peninsula that extends south from Canada into Lake Champlain. Alburgh is accessible only by driving from Canada or by voyaging across the water via boat or bridge. Boasting a pristine shoreline, Alburgh is predominantly agricultural. Within hiking distance of hotels is a 625-acre state park that has a south-facing natural dune beach. It's a fine place to explore natural wetlands, hike, golf, boat, cycle, skate, ice fish, ski and camp.

Goose Point Campground

Goose Point Campground has 143 sites that offer 50 sites with water, electric and sewer hookups and 46 sites have just water and electric. There are plenty of tent sites. The campground is open from May 1 to Oct. 15. Located in Alburgh, Goose Point Campground offers swimming, boating, an on-site store and is near golfing, whitewater paddling and several hiking trails.

The Ransom Bay Inn

Open May through October, the Thomas Mott Homestead Bed and Breakfast offers comfortable rooms and a full, large breakfast. Hike or bike on a nearby bike path, play horseshoes, bocce or croquet. The inn is a nonsmoking facility. Pets aren't allowed, and children must be older than 12 years of age.
