The Caruso Museum Restaurant
This fascinating Sorrento restaurant honors the famous Italian opera singer, Enrico Caruso. The restaurant itself is in the center of Sorrento and inside features photos and historical memorabilia about Caruso. The menu is a seasonal menu, so it changes often, but with perennial favorites such as ravioli all'aragosta (ravioli with lobster) and lasagne ai frutti di mare (seafood lasagna) or salmone e spada marinato con germogli di soia (salmon and swordfish marinated with soy sprouts), it doesn't disappoint. The restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, but it does get busy, so it's best to make a reservation. The Caruso Museum Restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy traditional Sorrentine cuisine after a day boating on the Bay of Naples.

La Lanterna
La Lanterna is located above ancient Roman ruins and serves traditional Italian food using mostly ingredients grown in La Lanterna's gardens. The restaurant is family owned and concentrates on cooking true Neapolitan and Mediterranean cuisine. Start your meal with the antipasti buffet, followed by fried calamari or linguine with porcini mushrooms. La Lanterna has an extensive menu, with pizza, pasta, salads and more. Don't miss the dessert table either with its many rich and delicious choices. Be warned though, La Lanterna's portions are large, so make sure you're hungry before you go. Make reservations and request one of the outdoor tables in the alley at the side of the restaurant--very pretty.

Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso
If you're in Sorrento, you shouldn't miss a true Sorrentine pizza served at Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso. Cooked in a wood-burning stove, the restaurant's pizzas are unlike any American pizza you've ever had. Focusing on less sauce, homemade dough and fresh ingredients, each of Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso's pizzas is prepared individually using locally grown ingredients. The simple margherita pizza (tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil) or the house specialty, Tasso pizza (with cheese, rucola, tomatoes and olives), are great choices. Or try one of the pasta, fresh fish or lamb dishes. Ask for the extensive wine list as it features more than 500 bottles of Italian and imported wines. Ristorante Pizzeria Tasso seats more than 250 people in a traditional yet relaxing and fun atmosphere. Great after a day wandering the streets of Pompeii.
