Lamar is a small town near many nature attractions in the heart of the Keystone State. The nearest attraction is the 5,900-acre Bald Eagle State Park. Hikers will find an 11-mile network of trails stretched over uplands, valleys and ridges. West of Lamar on Interstate 80 is Black Moshannon State Park, which offers nearly 3,500 acres of forests and wetlands that can be explored by its 16-mile network of trails. The park is surrounded by the 43,000-acre Moshannon State Forest. Tiadaghton State Forest to the north and Bald Eagle State Forest to the west of Lamar offer more chances to explore pure nature. Although Lamar has no lodging options of its own, there are several places to stay nearby.
