Macon is located 170 miles northwest of Savannah and 83 miles south of Atlanta and offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including the 1,800-acre Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area with 35 miles of shoreline offering swimming, fishing, boating and sailing, and the Okmulgee Heritage Trail, a 9-mile riverside walking path with open spaces covering 1,413 acres.
