1789 Restaurant, chosen by Gourmet Magazine as one of America's top restaurants, is truly an elegant and well-established Georgetown institution. With its relaxed country-inn atmosphere decorated with historical prints and antiques, five separate dining rooms and award-winning wine list, it exemplifies charm and sophistication. For an appetizer, sample the Country Rose veal pâté, foie gras with black trumpet mushrooms, Bosc pears and house mustard. For a main course, order the herb crusted rack of lamb with fingerling potatoes and stewed mustard greens. 1789 Restaurant is open for dinner daily.

Filomena Ristorante

Voted one of Washington DC's best restaurants for over 25 years by Zagat, the Washingtonian Magazine and others, Filomena Ristorante delivers superior authentic Italian cuisine in refined and elegant surroundings. The interior of the restaurant evokes old Italy, with numerous Italian antiques and a warm inviting atmosphere. Visit the restaurant at Christmas time and see it decorated with over 10 thousand lights. Order the Arancini appetizer, Italian Arborio rice balls stuffed with mozzarella and Bolognese meat, lightly bread crumbed and fried to perfection. For an entrée, order Harrison Ford's favorite manicotti, or President Clinton's Luigini Cardinale, which is lobster meat in Filomena's famous creamy Cardinale lobster sauce served over linguini pasta. Filomena's is open daily for lunch and dinner. Brunch also is offered on Sundays.

La Chaumiere

With authentic French cuisine at the forefront and an amazingly beautiful and elegant thatched cottage resembling a French country inn as the backdrop, La Chaumiere is the perfect place for a romantic candle lit dinner. Relax in its comfortable dining room and enjoy the central stone fireplace and authentic wood beams. Partake in one of the Chef's seasonal specials, based on fresh, local menu items such as the Pot Au Feu, broiled shoulder of beef with oxtail and winter vegetables in a consommé, or the Beef Wellington, which is filet of beef wrapped in brioche dough with foie gras, mushroom mousse and truffle sauce. La Chamiere is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, and is open for dinner only on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
