Branson, Missouri, a town with 6,050 people, has more than 100,000 lodging rooms, restaurant chairs and theater seats and provides more seats than New York City's Broadway District. It is known for musical entertainment, variety shows and dinner shows. Cabins close to Branson, Missouri, include Big Cedar, the Cabins at Green Mountain, Cooper Creek Resort and the Wilderness Lob Cabins. Lake Taneycomo is close by with excellent trout fishing, both rainbow and brown. The Roark Creek runs through the 62-acre Stockstill Park, which also has a half-mile paved hiking trail and a skate park.

Big Cedar

Big Cedar, a Bass Pro Shop property, is located on Table Rock Lake in the Ozark Mountains, about 10 miles from Branson. Big Cedar has its own marina, a nine-hole golf course, two spas, hiking/biking/walking trails and fishing for trout and bass. The four restaurants include Truman (casual dining), Worman House Restaurant (fine dining), Top of the Rock (golf course dining) and Devils Pool (breakfast).

Nonsmoking cabins are available in two categories: Big Cedar private log cabins and Dogwood Canyon cabins, located 16 miles from Big Cedar. Private log cabins have fireplaces, and some have full kitchens, private decks and lofts and/or outdoor gas grills. Big Cedar cabins include those with one room, one room with loft, a family cabin, a two-bedroom cabin and a two bedroom with loft.

Dogwood Canyon cabins, overlooking Dogwood Canyon, include two or three bedrooms that include a loft. All cabins have satellite TV, a wood-burning fireplace, a gas grill, a sofa sleeper and a VCR.

The Cabins at Green Mountain

The Cabins at Green Mountain, nestled on a hill off Highway 76, are located within three minutes of the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area and its 3- to 4-mile hiking trails. The Cabins at Green Mountain include two- and three-bedroom cabins with full kitchens, fireplaces, and washers and dryers. Pets are welcome; a fee of $25 per pet and $10 per night applies, with maximum of two pets that weigh no more than 35 pounds each. The property has a quarter-mile nature trail.

Cooper Creek Resort

Cooper Creek Resort is located on the shores of Lake Taneycomo. Cooper Creek Resort offers 22 nonsmoking cabins with one, two or three bedrooms. All cabins have a functional kitchen, cable TV (66 channels), coffee makers and towels and linens. Facilities also include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, two swimming pools and a deck or porch.

The Wilderness Log Cabins

The Wilderness Log Cabins, located in the Ozark Mountains, feature a complimentary shuttle service to Silver Dollar City. All cabins include cable TV and air conditioning, and there is a swimming pool on the property.

Cabins include either a queen bed and bunk beds; a queen bed and a trundle bed (two twins) with a kitchenette; a queen bed downstairs, trundle bed, kitchenette and fireplace; or a loft with a full bed and twin, a queen bed, a kitchenette and a fireplace; or a loft with two full beds and a twin bed, a queen bed downstairs, a kitchenette, a fireplace and a jetted tub and shower.
