Kabul Afghan Cuisine

This popular Seattle restaurant serves authentic Afghan cuisine, which, if you've never tried it, is like a cross between Middle Eastern and Pakistani cooking with lots of grilled lamb, yogurt, eggplant and korma curry. Located in the eclectic neighborhood of Wallingford, Kabul is owned and operated by jovial Afghani immigrant Wali Khairzada, who often reminds customers that he began his life in Seattle by franchising a 7-Eleven store. Khairzada's food speaks for itself: lamb kebabs marinated in garlic, onions, coriander and saffron, sautéed eggplant topped with ground beef and seasonings, and traditional Afghan turnovers served with yogurt-garlic dip. Kabul offers a wide range of tasty vegetarian delights as well.
