Restaurant Row is the informal name for the section of 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues in New York City that has a large number of restaurants. It is close to Times Square and the theater district as well as to outdoor attractions like Bryant Park and Central Park. Farther afield, you'll find places on the Hudson River for boating, a botanical garden at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and bicycle paths throughout the city, including in Riverside Park. After a day out in the fresh air, dinner at one of the many restaurants on Restaurant Row is sure to please.

Bangkok House

Bangkok House on Restaurant Row features authentic Thai food in an elegant yet relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner with either a la carte or a fixed-price menu. Try tom kha gai (coconut soup with chicken), goong yang (grilled shrimp) or som tam (spicy papaya salad). Bangkok House is open seven days a week and is popular with the theater crowd, who like to eat before the curtain goes up. The Firebird

The Firebird is a New York City restaurant famous for serving Russian cuisine in a pre-Russian Revolution atmosphere. Lunch and dinner are served every day except Monday with a choice of a la carte items or a fixed price menu. Some of the delights on the menu include poached sturgeon, minced lamb dumplings, smoked salmon tart and beet borscht. For dessert, don't miss the the warm lemon souffle or the molten chocolate cake. For a typical Spanish meal, Sangria 46 on Restaurant Row is the place to eat. Serving tapas, seafood and desserts in an authentic Spanish bistro atmosphere, the restaurant also has an extensive wine and sangria menu. Try the cured pork loin, Spanish sausage, goat cheese or Spanish potato omelet along with a glass of mango or strawberry sangria.
