Located about 70 miles to the west of Sydney, among the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia, the small village of Blackheath provides access to gorgeous mountain wilderness and scenery. The village is home to numerous bushwalk trails, lookouts, gardens of flowers (particularly rhododendrons), delicious restaurants, a golf course and a waterfall. And, if you need somewhere to stay during your Blue Mountain vacation, there are also a number of hotels in Blackheath.

New Ivanhoe Hotel

This 1930s Art Deco hotel offers some of the cheapest lodging in the Blackheath/Blue Mountains area. Seven double rooms and three twin rooms are available, offering simple accommodations and shared bathrooms; three of the double rooms have private bathrooms. The main hotel is primarily a cozy restaurant/lounge/bar---open seven days a week---with fireplaces and comfy chairs.

Kanimbla View Clifftop Retreat

Just three minutes outside of central Blackheath, Kanimbla is set among 12 acres of beautiful cliff-top scenery. Lodging is dispersed among a handful of cabins/cottages, each with TV/DVD, full kitchen, deck/patio, barbecue area, books, games and CD player/radio. The grounds of the retreat are home to a number of extras, including a glasshouse spa, tennis court, table tennis, fitness center and bushwalk cliff trails. Extra services include massage, facial and reflexology treatments and yoga classes. Prices are somewhat expensive---geared towards couples/groups and multiple night stays.

The Gardners Inn

Built in 1831, the Gardners Inn is, according to its website, "the oldest licensed hotel in the Blue Mountains." Renovated in 2008, this hotel offers a selection of 28 single, twin, double, family and deluxe rooms. Each room comes with a TV and electric blankets; one deluxe room has a private hot tub. The premises are also home to a sports bar, regular main bar and full-service restaurant with diverse menu. Room rates are only available upon inquiry.

St. Mounts Boutique Hotel and Trattoria

Sitting among two acres of lush gardens and adjacent to a sprawling park, St. Mounts is an elegant four-star hotel. Rooms come with a variety of different amenities and are dispersed among the main building and a handful of fully-equipped garden cottages. Some rooms come with hot tubs and fireplaces. The grounds are also home to the St. Mounts Trattoria Restaurant, an Italian fine-dining restaurant with two executive chefs. Rooms at St. Mounts lie in the mid to upper price range.
