Catfish Restaurants in Reno, Nevada

Catfish Restaurants in Reno, Nevada
Reno is home to miles and miles of trails as well as The Chutes, a unique ski area located at Mt. Rose Ski Resort that allows advanced skiers the opportunity to fly down the mountain and experience 1,500 feet of vertical at a 40- to 55-degree angle. After all of that activity, you might be in the mood for some hearty southern seafood. If you are craving catfish, you don't have to head out of town. The Reno area has a few catfish options for you that will tempt your taste buds.

M&M's Fish & Chicken Shack

Catfish is old-fashioned southern soul food. So it makes sense that a down-home restaurant like M&M's Fish & Chicken Shack would have catfish on the menu. This unassuming restaurant, located in a strip mall, serves up fried catfish and a variety of other southern classics. Its fried catfish basket comes with a choice of one or two sides. Choose from crispy fries, black-eyed peas, red beans and rice, yams, okra and even good old-fashioned collard greens. It serves hush puppies as well.

Golden Flower Vietnamese

If you think you have had catfish every way you can, you may be surprised. Not all catfish is southern comfort food. In Vietnamese cooking, it's something completely different. One of the specialties at Golden Flower Vietnamese puts a spin on your traditional catfish dish. The restaurant sautes its catfish and uniquely serves it in a clay pot. Like southern-fried catfish, you might also find small bones in this dish. So be careful while eating it.
