If you're willing to stay farther from Texarkana's city center, you can get closer to the hiking, boating and fishing available at Atlanta State Park and Rocky Point Park. Both parks have trail systems and are in Atlanta, Texas, as is the Best Western Pineywoods Inn (28 miles from Texarkana and 18 miles from Doddrige, Arkansas).
