Black Eagle Mine Road
Joshua Tree National Park has 35 miles of riding and hiking trails. Natural sights include juniper forests and creosote-dominated lowlands. The Black Eagle Mine Road is one of the biking trails. It begins 6.5 miles north of the park's Cottonwood Visitor Center. The trail is a dirt road that runs along the edge of Joshua Tree National Park's Pinto Basin. It also winds through canyons in the Eagle Mountains, providing scenic views along the way. The trail's first 9 miles are within the park. Bikers can turn around and loop or proceed outside of the park's boundaries.

Split Mountain Trail
Although it is located about two hours from Palm Springs, Anza-Borrego State Park offers more than 500 miles of trails that are open for bicycle riders. Most of the paved roads are open for cycling use as well. The Split Mountain is one of the bike trails in the park. It features a scenic pass through the split in the mountain where bikers can enjoy the views. Bikers can park at the Fish Creek along Split Mountain Road to venture on foot and explore more of the park's scenery and wildlife.

Covington Flats
Covington Flats is in Joshua Tree National Park. This dirt road trail lets bikers access some of the park's largest junipers and Joshua trees in the desert. The trail spans 3.8 miles from the Covington Flats picnic area to Eureka Peak. The trail is moderate and at times steep, but it offers spectacular views of the area and other sights such as Morongo Basin and surrounding mountains.
