The small city of Delavan is located in southeastern Wisconsin near the Illinois border. Once the home of a large circus colony, today Delavan caters to visitors who enjoy outdoor activities including golf, water sports, hiking and skiing. Delavan offers over 100 acres of nature preserves, the Dribble Nature Trail, the New Hollister Wetlands Conservancy, golf courses and one of Wisconsin's largest ski resorts. Several Delavan resorts are open all year to accommodate summer and winter visitors.

Delavan Lake Resort

Located on the shores of Delavan Lake, this resort offers 58 lakeside non-smoking and pet-free 1 or 2 bedroom suites. Each suite has a full kitchen, gas fireplace, pull out sofa bed, patio or balcony and free wireless Internet access. Suites range from 600 to 1,200 square feet and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Additional amenities include guest laundry services, a game room, a fitness center and a lakeside sun deck.

Guests will enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools. They may also enjoy swimming or boating on Delavan Lake. Delavan Lake Resort is minutes from the 27-hole Delbrook Golf Course with a fully stocked Pro Shop.

Lake Lawn Resort

Lake Lawn is a luxury 250-acre resort located on the wooded shores of Delavan Lake with 281 rooms, lofts and suites. The lodge rooms offer king or queen sized beds, handcrafted wood furniture, flat screen TVs, patios or balconies, high speed Internet access and Aveda bath products. Lofts are furnished with an additional pair of twin beds on a second level loft, and spacious 1-bedroom suites have a separate living room, kitchenette, wet bar and fireplace. Lofts and suites can accommodate up to 6 people. All rooms are non-smoking, and the LodgeNet system provides resort information, movies and Nintendo games on pay-per-view.

Lake Lawn offers guests a wide variety of recreational activities, including the resort's own 18-hole golf course. There are five miles of groomed trails for cross country skiing, hiking, biking and jogging. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools are readily available. Sports enthusiasts enjoy the resort's basketball and volleyball courts.

Alpine Valley Resort

Located minutes from downtown Delavan in the Kettle Moraine Valley, Alpine Valley is one of Wisconsin's largest ski resorts. It also has plenty to offer summer guests. Alpine Valley's Bavarian-style lodge offers 123 on-slope guest rooms and suites. Each room includes a coffeemaker, satellite TV and access to the indoor pool and whirlpool.

Guests can dine in the Alpine Dining Room, enjoy the scheduled entertainment and a cocktail in the Valley View Lounge or stay warm on the 3,500 square foot heated outdoor patio. Weekday and weekend packages include lift and meal tickets.

Alpine Valley has approximately 20 runs at all difficulty levels, including several for beginners and 16 lifts and wonder carpets to ease congestion. The Alpine Valley Ski School offers group and private instruction for all ability levels. The Ski Patrol ensures the safety of all guests. Skis, boots, poles, snowboards and boots are available for rent. Trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing are also available.

In the summer, Alpine Valley offers tennis courts and golf courses. Carts are included with each golf package, but tee times and collared shirts are required.
