About 80 miles south of St. Louis is Perryville, the county seat of Perry County, Missouri, which has state conservation areas with trails and scenic views. One of these areas features Tower Rock, a limestone formation rising out of the Mississippi River. Seventy-Six Conservation Area provides views overlooking the river valley. The catfish-stocked Perry County Community Lake has a four-mile shoreline trail, and is close to Perryville hotels.

Perry County Community Lake isn't far from the Comfort Inn; the fishing and hiking area is about three and a half miles away. The hotel offers a continental breakfast and fax and copy services. Rooms have two queen-size beds or one king bed, as well as high-speed Internet, microwaves, refrigerators and HBO. An outdoor pool and a hot tub are open during warm weather. The Comfort Inn in Perryville doesn't allow pets. Hoeckele's Bakery & Deli is 1 mile northeast of the hotel and a local favorite, serving doughnuts, peanut coffee cake and other baked sweets, along with sandwiches.
