The Delaware And Raritan Canal, which runs right through the area, is a 70-mile state park that is one of New Jersey's most popular recreational areas for running, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, fishing and horseback riding. This historic canal system is part of the National Recreation Trail System, which links to other trails and parks. And after an exhausting day outside, Rocky Hill has many fine eating establishments where you can reward yourself.

If you're looking to have a sophisticated, high-end lunch or dinner, ONE 53 might be just what you're seeking. ONE 53 serves American cuisine for lunch and dinner and boasts an impressive wine list. Most dinner entrees run between $20 and $25, while lunch is between $12 and $18. ONE 53 is open for lunch Thursday and Friday at 11:30 a.m., while dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m..

If you prefer something laid back and casual, the Tiger's Tale should be your destination. Just outside of Rocky Hill (literally across the street from the town border), this restaurant/bar is legendary for its burgers and wings, although the large menu should have something for everyone. Sandwiches are about $10, while dinner specials can go as high as $25. The Tiger's Tale serves food every day from 11 a.m. until midnight.

Ya Ya Noodles

If Chinese food is what you seek, then it's Ya Ya Noodles all the way, which is located just a few steps away from Tiger's Tale. The decor is comfortable and pleasant, while the food is inexpensive. This restaurant is a BYOB and gets very busy for lunch, so reservations are helpful, especially if you are bringing a large party. Most dishes are in the $10 range, and Ya Ya Noodles is open for lunch and dinner every day, from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
