Named after a massive restaurant in Calcutta, India, Grain of Salt is a family-operated, casual restaurant that serves up Northern Indian cuisine. The menu offers a variety of vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes, including the usual curries and tandoor-baked poultry. Restaurant specialties include lamb boti, sliced lamb marinated in yogurt with a special blend of Indian herbs, or try navratan korma, a vegetarian curry dish featuring mixed vegetables cooked with cashew paste, cream and mild spices.

Masala Bay Fine Indian Dining

Masala Bay offers upscale Indian cuisine prepared by owner Ritesh Bhargava, previously a chef in the famous Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi, India. Masala Bay offers a buffet for the lunchtime crowd and an a la carte menu for dinner. Try the chef's signature murg tikka makhani, which consists of barbecued chicken cooked in a fresh tomato and butter sauce, tossed with rich Indian herbs.

Modern India Restaurant

Modern India packs in Waterloo-region patrons with its massive buffet and superior service. The buffet features more than 60 items, including curries, tandoor-baked items and many vegetarian choices.
