Reliance is a town in South Dakota near the Missouri River. Visitors can fish for northern pike, trout, white bass perch and catfish on Lake Sharpe or ice fish in the winter months. The Lower Brule Indian Reservation provides hunting packages that allow you to hunt before the regular season for white-tail deer, grouse, wild turkeys, elk, buffalo and pheasants. The reservation also has a Buffalo Interpretive Center in the midst of three tribal buffalo ranges where nearly 100 buffalo roam. Although there is only one motel in Reliance, several other affordable options are in the nearby town of Oacoma.

Golden Buffalo Motel

The Golden Buffalo Motel is on the Native American Scenic Byway that crosses the reservations of four tribes of Sioux in North and South Dakota. The motel offers 38 rooms with cable TV and an attached restaurant that serves prime rib, burgers and seafood. A convention center also accommodates up to 100 people. The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe operates a casino next to the motel.

Oasis Inn

Oasis Inn has 86 rooms rated three diamonds by AAA. Amenities include complimentary continental breakfast, high-speed Internet, TV with HBO, coffee makers in each room and free local calls. There is RV parking with vehicle plug-ins, a gazebo with a picnic area and fishing pond. Two- and three-bedroom cabins stocked with cooking equipment are available. The inn also offers a fishing guide service where visitors can take a trip of one to three days to catch walleyes and smallmouth bass in the Missouri River. Some of the rooms overlook the Missouri River.

The Days Inn is next to the Missouri River. Amenities include a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, guest laundry and complimentary continental breakfast. Rooms offer free high-speed Internet and cable TV with more than 55 channels. Guests can visit the city of Oacoma's old west and Indian museums or the South Dakota Hall of Fame, which is 4 miles away. Pets are permitted at an extra cost.
