Oyen is a small dry land farming town on the Alberta/Saskatchewan border offering residents and visitors wide open spaces and endless blue skies. Even though Oyen's population is under 3,000 it's a modern community that provides excellent municipal and medical services, modern schools, recreation facilities and senior accommodations. Basically, it's a small town with a big city atmosphere.

If you are visiting Oyen, there are plenty of hotels to choose from, each offering a variety of amenities to suit your every need. Oyen also offers plenty of activities to keep you busy while on your stay. If you like to fish, there is a pond in town that is always stocked with trout; a fishing license is required for adults. There is also the local ice arena that offers daily public skating for adults and children. Camping and hiking are two other activities that you might enjoy on your stay. No matter what time of year you plan to visit Oyen, there is something for everyone.

Prairie Bells Bed and Breakfast

If you want to feel at home while you are visiting Oyen, be sure to make reservations at Prairie Bells Bed and Breakfast. Prairie Bells is an original T. Eaton Company house built in 1917. Many of the original houses in the area were ordered by catalog, shipped by train and collected by wagons.

This bed and breakfast offers a prairie view, smoke free and pet free accommodations, six bedrooms, which are either queen or single rooms with shared baths. Smoking is permitted on the veranda or off of the property, and if you want to bring your furry friend along there are pet boarding facilities only moments away. Breakfast is served daily between 7and 9 am.
