Upon arrival at Hotel Celio, which is a mansion built in 1870, guests will find the majestic Colosseum and the Forum right in front of them. This 20-room hotel, features drapes, frescoes, mosaic flooring and tromp d' oil. Rooms are not numbered, rather they are given a name reflecting the author of the fresco reproductions featured in each room. Room amenities include satellite, cable TV, video player, safety deposit box, mini bar, small private bathroom and hair dryer. A Techno-gym wellness room has been recently added for fitness enthusiasts. Outdoor enthusiasts may take advantage of the location for organizing tours and excursions in nearby archeological sites. Hotel Mercure Roma Delta Colosseo

This four-star hotel offers views of the world's most famous amphitheater, just about 200 meters (219 yards) away. There are 160 rooms with some offering window views of the Colosseum. An open-air pool is found on the panoramic terrace, which is open from the end of May through September. Excursions may be organized upon request. Amenities include Wi-Fi Internet access, satellite TV, safe, air conditioning, private bathroom, mini bar, room service and laundry. A court and Japanese garden is available. Small pets are allowed with a fee.
