Condos & Cabins in Seward, Alaska

Condos & Cabins in Seward, Alaska
An active traveler could scarcely find a better town to land in than Seward, Alaska, with its surfeit of hiking, fishing, an annual Fourth of July marathon, extraordinary kayaking, a wow of a solstice party and ease of wildlife viewing. Many travelers find that staying in one of Seward's cabins after a day of outdoor activity is the cherry on the sundae of a perfect day. If you want a taste of "real Alaska," look into a cabin stay.

Alaska Creekside Cabins

These six log cabins are on five acres a bit more than 3-1/2 miles from downtown Seward, and not just any five acres. Surrounded by Sitka spruce, Alaska Creekside Cabins lie on Clear Creek between the Kenai Fjords National Park to the south and west and Chugach National Forest to the north and east. The cabins feature electric heat, cable TV and an outdoor fire pit. Visitors can zip quickly to Exit Glacier and jawdropping Harding Ice Field but may be just as impressed with salmon splashing in the creek steps from their cabin's front porch. Visitors also can request a sauna and lounge inside until 11 p.m.

Salmon Creek Cabins

These four cabins on Salmon Creek Road about three miles north of Seward offer excellent access to salmon fishing, with May being the best month for kings. While at Salmon Creek, talk to the owners to arrange a chance to dip your fishing pole into the water off a charter boat for halibut, cod and sea bass. The cabins offer private decks with charcoal barbecues and sleep from four to eight guests. The owners love guests to bring their children, noting there is plenty of room for them to goof around and plenty of summer light for playing until 11 p.m.

Allens Alaska Adventures

You'll have a handcrafted log cabin to stay in and options for custom charters if you book a stay at Allen's Alaska Adventures, five miles north of Seward. The cabin, measuring 16 by 24 feet, sleeps four and offers a private barbecue to grill your catch. If you want wild berries for breakfast, take a stroll and pick your own, just like Alaskans do. Capt. Joe Allen has 20 years of experience guiding visitors in the waters of Resurrection Bay and U.S. Coast Guard and CPR/first aid certification. If you prefer to hike, the trailhead of Lost Lake Trail lies 600 yards from the cabin, and 45 minutes of walking brings you to a view of Seward, Resurrection Bay and the surrounding mountains.
