Vito & Michael's Pizzeria
An article about pizzerias on St. Petersburg Beach would not be complete without mentioning Vito & Michael's. Although it doesn't serve New York-style pizza, this is by far the local favorite. The most popular pies are the thin crust with an assortment of toppings that range from the restaurant's own special cheese blend to a seafood pie. Vito & Michael's offers other types of Italian dishes, beer and wine. Another great perk of this particular pizzeria is that it is open until 3 a.m. every day of the week.

Fortunato's Italian Pizzeria on the Beach
A few doors down from Vito & Michael's is Fortunato's, which has been around since 1976 and prides itself on its specialty pizzas. Each pizza can be made in Napolitian (thin crust) or Siciliane (thick crust) style. The restaurant has much more on its menu than pizza. Pastas, Mediterranean cuisine, cold cuts and hot subs, including a very popular Philly cheese steak, as well as wine and beer are available in the restaurant. Fortunato's is open until 10 or 11 p.m. and delivers to the local area.

Gigi's Italian Restaurant
A little more expensive but another local favorite is Gigi's Italian Restaurant. Gigi's stands out from the other pizzerias by offering 30 different types of brick-oven pizza. The pizzeria is located across the street from the beach and has a more romantic vibe than the other pizzerias mentioned. Gigi's offers a selection of Italian dishes, beer, wine and a signature sangria. The restaurant is open until 10 or 11 p.m.

Gennaro's Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria
At the far end of St. Pete Beach, tucked away in a residential community, Gennaro's has a counter where you can grab a quick slice of pizza or sit down in the dining room for a full meal. The restaurant offeres a large selection of specialty and white pizzas, as well as Italian dishes, wine and desserts. Gennaro's delivers in the local area and has a room for private parties. Gennaro's is open noon to 10 p.m. every day except Monday.
