Ironbound, New Jersey Restaurants

Ironbound, New Jersey Restaurants
While Newark, New Jersey, is largely considered an urban hub, the downtown area is home to Military Park, which is a popular destination for city walks and bike rides. The Ironbound district of Newark is one of New Jersey's most ethnically rich areas. It boasts an astounding number of Portuguese, Spanish, Mexican and Brazilian eateries.

Mi Pequeno Mexico

Mi Pequeno Mexico has been something of an Ironbound district landmark since opening its doors in 2000. Situated just a stone's throw away from Newark's train station, Mi Pequeno Mexico offers a variety of both traditional and inventive takes on Mexican cuisine. The huevo and chorizo sandwich, with eggs and sausage, works well for both breakfast and lunch. Mi Pequeno Mexico is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. (except for the weekends when it opens an hour earlier).
