SCUBA Diving Certification Courses in Houston, Texas

Snorkeling is fun, but imagine the thrill of being underwater beneath the waves surrounded by colorful sealife. Scuba diving puts you in the middle of all the underwater action, so you can spy sea cucumbers, admire schools of fish and take stunning one-of-a-kind underwater photographs.

Before you can go on a dive, you will need to get certified. Several dive shops in the Houston area are PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) approved and offer programs that can give you the skills and credentials you need to dive.

Houston Scuba Academy offers Open Water Diver certification. The program combines at-home book study with classroom instructions to get the basics down. Gigglin Marlin Divers

If you have already spent a significant time underwater, you may want to take the next step and learn how to lead dives or even teach people how to dive. Master Scuba Diver certification is necessary if you want to accompany a less experienced diver into the open water.

Gigglin Marlin Divers is a five-star PADI certified dive center. The Master Scuba Diver certification is the highest, non-professional certification you can obtain. You will need 50 logged dives plus Advanced Open Water Rescue Diver certification and a minimum of five PADI specialty diver certifications before you can take the Master Scuba Diver class.

Sea Sports Scuba

Sea Sports Scuba offers a wide array of scuba diver training courses. If you are a beginner, you can try scuba diving, without getting certified, in a Discover Scuba Diving class. In this class, you are given basic instruction before going into the water with an experienced Dive Master. After you are hooked on diving, Sea Sports Scuba can help you get certified as an Open Water Diver.

If it's been awhile since you have been diving, but you are already certified, the shop also provides a PADI Refresher Course, so you can go into the water with confidence.
