Dog Friendly Hotels in the Inner Harbor Area of Baltimore, Maryland
Dogs and their people can have a fine time staying in Baltimore's vibrant Inner Harbor. The area is filled with places to explore. A walk by the harbor past the aquarium can lead to Federal Hill Park, where leashed dogs are welcome to sniff and play. Visitors will find a selection of Inner Harbor hotels that welcome dogs, including some that are moderately priced. None of the hotels allows dogs to be left alone in the room.

Pier 5 Hotel

The Pier 5 Hotel sits on its own pier right by the water and next to the National Aquarium. Dogs are greeted with an iBones Outward Bound Pet Travel Kit, which includes treats, toys, bowls and a dog bed. Humans get treats, too, with a welcoming choice of Godiva chocolates, a half bottle of Robert Mondavi wine or cookies and milk. The pier has plenty of interesting places nearby to walk with a dog, including areas with grass. Rooms and suites in this boutique hotel are decorated with colorful, whimsical touches. Luxury amenities include bathrobes and designer toiletries. Guests receive a complimentary day pass to the nearby MAC Wellness facility. Two restaurants, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and McCormick & Schmick's, are connected to the hotel. The pet fee is $49 per stay.

Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

The Sheraton welcomes dogs with its Very Important Pet service (a basket of treats with bowls), and a Sheraton Sweet Sleeper dog bed is available. Oriole Park at Camden Yards is a short walk from the hotel. Fells Point is two miles away. Amenities in the 100 percent nonsmoking rooms include plush bathrobes, Sweet Sleeper beds, turndown service and coffee makers with Starbucks coffee. Guests can enjoy the hotel's fitness facilities, sauna and indoor heated pool. Certain floors are reserved for Sheraton Club guests, who receive upgraded amenities and access to the exclusive Club Lounge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in the hotel's two restaurants and bar. The Sheraton reserves the right to charge for any damage or extra cleaning caused by a visiting dog.

Homewood Suites by Hilton

This moderately-priced, all-suite hotel welcomes dogs up to 75 lbs. A $100 nonrefundable, one-time pet fee is required. The grassy strip outside the hotel is appropriate for quick canine bathroom breaks. A slightly longer walk will lead into and around Little Italy. Each of the hotel's one-bedroom or studio suites has a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, two-burner stove and dishwasher. Homewood Suites has an onsite convenience store that sells snacks, frozen foods and microwaveable meals. The American Grill in the hotel is open for breakfast and dinner. Room service is available for dinner only.
