Tarcutta is in New South Wales, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. The Tarcutta Hills Reserve is a 432-hectare area of grassy woodland, one of the largest remaining in good condition in Australia. The reserve protects 13 at-risk species such as the turquoise parrot. Although Tarcutta has only one motel, the neighboring town of Wagga Wagga provides other affordable accommodations next to Lake Albert, where you can sail, water-ski, fish or hike along the shore.

There is an outdoor swimming pool, and barbeque facilities. An on-site restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and has a full bar. Charles Sturt Motor Inn

This motor inn offers rooms with queen beds and sofas. Units with flat screen LCD televisions, dining tables and mini-bars are also available, as well as one-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and courtyards. All rooms are located on the ground floor. The Roundabout Restaurant is on site and offers dinner every day except Sunday. The Inn is close to the Wagga Wagga Botanical Gardens which features a zoo, free-flight aviary, historical museum, fitness trail, and picnic and barbeque facilities.

Lawson Motor Inn

The Lawson Motor Inn offers 40 units, each with free high-speed Internet access and a kitchenette. There is a lounge and landscaped gardens as well as direct access to the Wiradjuri Track--30 kilometers of views of the Murrumbidgee River, Lake Albert and the Australian Alps. The river also allows for a day spent canoeing, fishing or swimming. There are garden units available which provide a covered balcony with views of the river and a covered verandah that opens onto the courtyard. A conference room which seats 70 is on site and catering service is available. The inn is convenient to the Wagga Wagga Winery, also set close to the river, and the Foster Rose Farm, featuring Clydesdale horse demonstrations.
