Kelowna is a city near Okanagan Lake near the valley of the same name in British Columbia, Canada. The city's name comes from a Canadian term meaning grizzly bear. This city's French roots derive from a French Roman Catholic named Charles Pandosy, who created a mission in the Okanagan Valley in 1859. If you are driving from Vancouver to Kelowna, the distance averages about 245 miles. There are several hiking, biking and running trails in Kelowna. The Mission Creek Regional Park (where dogs are welcomed) and Glen Canyon Regional Park (with no dogs) are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Besides trails, Kelowna has other tourist attractions including the Kelowna Cultural District and Kelowna Community Theatre. Bouchons Bistro

The Bouchon Bistro menu features burgundy coq-au-vin marinated in pinot noir, marinated rabbit served on a casserole with mustard and tarragon, and duck with glazed honey and herbs topped with sherry sauce.

This restaurant's specialty dishes are la bouillabaisse (seafood bouillabaisse served with saffron broth, garlic, croutons and rouille dressing) and le cassoulet (duck and pork belly with Toulouse sausage, lingot beans,and garlic).

The Bouchon Bistro is a fine dining and family-friendly dining experience. This restaurant has outdoor tables covered with umbrellas. All tables are adorned with white table clothes and wine glasses. Bouchon Bistro was open in May 2004.

Earls Restaurant

Earls Restaurant serves cedar-planked salmon (served with curry sauce, vegetables and basmati rice), oven-roasted chicken (served with mushrooms, shallot, and white wine topped with potatoes and vegetables), and beet and pear salad (served with pecas, cheese coulis, parmesan chips, mushrooms, and baked chicken).

Specialty dishes are penne alfredo, Mediterranean linguini (served with tomatoes, olives, red peppers, parmesan cheese, feta shrimp and chicken), and prawn and scallop linguini (with tomatoes, parmesan, basil and citrus white wine). Earls is a romantic fine dining experience. Table clothes, candles, and deemed lights are just a few of the decorations in the restaurant.

Milestone Restaurant

Milestone Restaurant's menu features Kobe beef meatloaf (served with onion strings, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and vegetables), Portobello mushroom chicken (topped with olive oil, fresh basil, garlic and reggiano cream), and wine country lamb sirloin (with spinach, bok choy and mini potatoes).

Some of this restaurant's specialty dishes are seafood fettuccini, Italian sausage ravioli and butternut squash ravioli. Milestone's is a fine dining, cozy and romantic restaurant. It is adorned with flat-screen televisions and an abundant number of deem lights that give the restaurant an intimate ambiance.
