Located about halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga, Sweetwater, Tenn., is set in the scenic eastern mountains. The Lost Lake, America's largest underground lake with its many caverns and underground "rooms" is a must see for any outdoor lover. While on a trip in a glass bottom boat on the Lost Lake, it's claimed that you will see some of the world's largest rainbow trout. Historic downtown Sweetwater is a quaint village with an old time bakery, general store and ice cream shop, reminiscent of the time of the town's founding in 1875. One way to fully enjoy the scenery and unique attractions of this area is to rent a cabin.

The cabins or "kabins" available at the Sweetwater KOA provide a rustic, yet clean accommodation for the outdoor lover. Cabins include a kitchenette with cable TV, a full-size refrigerator, microwave, sink, cook top, porch with porch swing, picnic table and grill. Wireless Internet is available over the entire campground and there is a pool, huge jumping pillow (looks like a big in-ground trampoline), playground, volleyball court, store and a pavilion for large events. There are many attractions close to this site including the American Museum of Science and Energy, Sweetwater Valley Farm and the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum.

Sequoyah Landing

Sequoyah Landing boasts luxury and uniqueness among gentle rolling hills and the clean water of Lake Tellico. Guests have the option to stay in either a cabin or a yurt. A yurt is a large, circular tent usually placed on a wooden platform. The yurts are right on the water and offer a comfortable, yet unique way to enjoy nature. Mountain View Cabin Rentals

Overlooking the Tellico River and not far from Sweetwater are the Mountain View Cabins. The cabins are right in the mountains and are rustic looking. They do have all modern amenities including microwaves, coffee makers, cable TV, small refrigerator and stove. They are bright and clean, with wood paneling finish throughout. In the heart of the Cherokee National Forest, there are plenty of recreational activities to take part in, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, hiking and biking. There are many local events and attractions as well like Historic Fort Loudon.
