Brenner's Steakhouse

A Houston tradition since 1936, Brenner's received a new lease on life in 2003 when it was acquired by new owners. The Brenner's menu includes such classics as wedge salad, French onion soup and filet mignon, along with more unique offerings like veal crowned with a fried egg. The remodeled historic home is decorated in a 1950s-era country-club style. You can view the backyard garden, fountains, and mini waterfalls from the picture windows.

The Capital Grille

Located just two blocks from the Galleria, the Capital Grille is decorated with mahogany, plush leather and copper, giving the interior a luxurious club-like atmosphere. The Capital Grille serves dry-aged steak, veal chop and citrus glazed salmon. Other menu items include broiled fresh lobster, shrimp cocktail and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella with vine ripe tomatoes. Side offerings include a decadent lobster mac 'n' cheese, Vidalia onion rings and Parmesan truffle fries. Ice cream is made in-house, while other desserts include creme brulee, flourless chocolate espresso cake and fresh berries in vanilla cream.

Frank's Chop House

For a more casual dining experience, travel a few blocks down Westheimer Road to Frank's Chop House. Locally owned, Frank's Chop House serves grass-fed beef, veal and gulf coast seafood in an elegant, wood-paneled setting. In addition to several cuts of Angus grass-fed beef, entrees include maple brined double-bone pork chop, grilled veal chop and seared yellow fin tuna steak.
