Mexican Restaurants in Wall, New Jersey

Mexican Restaurants in Wall, New Jersey
Wall Township is a municipality in Monmouth County, New Jersey, just east of the Jersey shore. Within the town itself there aren't really any restaurants featuring Mexican cuisine other than Taco Bell, but right next door along the shore, there are several options. Following a 10- or 15-minute drive from Wall, these places afford diners the opportunity a Mexican meal and to visit the nearby seaside towns as well.

Jose's Mexican Food

Jose's Mexican Food in Sea Girt is a small casual taco stand that offers the usual fare: tacos and burritos, as well as soups. As an accompaniment, you can get homemade salsa and free tortilla chips, and as with most taco stands, Jose's provides good value for your money. While this is not a gourmet eatery, with an unappealing decor as well, Jose's is the place if you are in the mood for inexpensive Mexican food.

Kaya's Kitchen

Kaya's Kitchen in Belmar, N.J., is a good choice for those who try to make responsible food choices, and in particular for vegetarians and vegans. It's hard to find Mexican food that works under these diet restrictions, but Kaya's fits the bill. The chef has been a vegetarian since the age of 19 and is committed to providing delicious food that is meat-free. Kaya's is also eco-friendly, sourcing organic ingredients and recycling the fryer oil with a local farmer. But non-vegetarians can also eat at this eatery committed to providing delicious food that will satisfy anyone.

Surf Taco

Surf Taco has several locations along the shore, the closest in Belmar. This is a beach taco stand with an emphasis on coastal cuisine: traditional Mexican dishes with specialties in seafood, such as fish tacos. The restaurant also features "The Tsunami," the biggest burrito on the shore. If you can eat it in 15 minutes, you get your photo on the wall. Not for the fainthearted perhaps, but maybe it can be managed after a day of working the waves. The vibe is casual and friendly, and special events can be held here.

For those looking for a slightly less pedestrian experience, Casa Solar is dedicated to providing its customers with Mexican food that is slightly upscale, some of it with an Asian twist, such as Guava-Glazed Ribs and Sea Bass Estilo Vongole, to name a few. In the summer months, a tile-paved courtyard provides a romantic setting for an evening date. On the weekend, guests can enjoy live music in the courtyard as well.
