The town of Brandon in western Vermont is centrally located among the Champlain Valley, Green Mountains and Lake Dunmore. At the center of the 400,000-acre Green Mountain National Forest, Brandon attracts a wide range of travelers, including hikers, cyclists, skiers and kayakers. A number of independent inns and hotels welcome such visitors year-round.

Churchill House Inn

Established in 1872, the historic Churchill House is Brandon's first green hotel. Located within walking distance of Green Mountain National Forest's Moosalamoo trail system, the inn offers a full complimentary breakfast and 24-hour beverage bar to keep guests fueled throughout the day. Rooms feature private baths and Internet access; they do not include televisions. Food is grown in the organic vegetable and herb garden on the property, and a fireplace warms the atmosphere.

Brandon Inn

Travelers can enjoy the Green Mountain slopes by day and the charm of Brandon by night at the Brandon Inn. Located in the center of town in a building on the register of historic buildings, the Dutch Colonial Style building is also recognized as a green hotel. Guests receive a full country breakfast and private baths and can enjoy the inn's many conveniences from the on-site dining and pub to the closed in porch and outdoor pool.

Blueberry Hill Inn

The Blueberry Hill Inn is housed in an 1813 farmhouse at the base of Romance Mountain in Moosalamoo National Recreation Area. After a day of hiking, cycling or skiing on the 45 miles of trails outside the inn, warm by the lobby's fireplace. Guests receive complimentary breakfast, and rooms feature panoramic views of the mountains and private baths.
