Located in Clackamas County at the intersection of the Clackamus and Willimette Rivers, Gladstone is a small city in northwest Oregon. As of 2008, the population was just over 12,000. The area was once home to the Chautauqua Indiana tribe, and visitors to the Gladstone and Oregon City area can participate in the Chautauqua festival held every year in August in Max Paterson Memorial City Park. Whether visiting Gladstone for the Chautauqua festival, or for the other recreational activities the area provides, such as swimming, boating, hiking or bird watching, there are several motels where you can stay, varying in price and amenities.

Located directly on the Calackamas River and four miles from Calackamas Community College, the Oxford Suites is a three-star hotel/motel in the heart of Gladstone. The Econo Lodge Southeast is a two-star budget motel located at the junction of Gladstone and Milwaukie, two miles from Gladstone's Rivergreens golf course. Room features include air conditioning, refrigerators, microwaves and free wireless Internet access. Jacuzzi Suites and nonsmoking rooms are available for an additional fee. Located just outside of Gladstone proper, the Best Western Rivershore is a budget hotel/motel situated next to the Willamette River. Each of the 114 rooms comes equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. The rooms also feature high-speed Internet access, cable television and balconies with views to the river. The Best Western offers a discounted breakfast for guests, and there is one on-site restaurant, the Rivershore Bar & Grill, which serves American cuisine for lunch and dinner. The hotel's cocktail lounge features karaoke on weekends. The hotel has one outdoor heated pool, a fitness room and a hot tub. Pets can stay in the hotel rooms for an additional fee.
