The seaside town of Spring Lake, New Jersey, has numerous outdoor activities that you can enjoy, including fishing, bicycling, water skiing and boating. It offers a two-mile beach and New Jersey's longest noncommercial boardwalk. In addition, you can play golf at the Spring Lake Golf Club. Spring Lake is also a town with many shops, boutiques and gourmet restaurants.

Old Mill Inn

The Old Mill Inn serves American cuisine such as prime aged steaks and fresh seafood. The Prix Fixe Sunset Dinner Menu is available Tuesday to Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. for parties of up to six. This menu offers starters, entrees and desserts, including fried calamari, asparagus-stuffed loin of lamb and chocolate lava cake. The dinner menu, features starters, salads, entrees and sides, including foie gras, Chef Robert's salad, Pacific Northwest halibut and lobster tail and cheddar mashed potato. You can also enjoy Sunday buffet brunch and dine outdoors on a lakeside deck when the weather permits. The handicapped-accessible restaurant offers valet parking, along with catering services for weddings, banquets and parties of up to 250 people. Reservations are suggested.

Spring Lake Manor

Spring Lake Manor caters weddings and banquets but also has a Grille Room Restaurant and Bar that serves appetizers, salads, sides and entrees. The appetizers include crispy shrimp and calamari, seared ahi tuna or crab and lobster queasadilla. Guests can enjoy baby field greens salad, Caesar salad or Grille Room spinach salad. The entrees include 14-ounce New York strip steak, eight-ounce filet mignon, lamb chops, chicken rollatini, Southwestern crab cakes and pan seared yellowfin tuna. You can also order desserts such as creme brulee and key lime pie. The Grille Room Restaurant and Bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday starting at 5 p.m.

Whispers

Whispers restaurant serves first courses such as butternut squash soup, a duet of smoked Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout, jumbo lump crab cake, homemade gnocchi and braised lamb tenderloin. For the main course, you can order herb-crusted Scottish salmon filet with jumbo asparagus, celeriac mashed potatoes and whole grain mustard sauce. Other options include broiled Chilean sea bass with baby bok choy, rock shrimp mashed potatoes and citrus butter sauce and grilled double cut pork chop with roasted root vegetables, sweet potato gratin and apple cider black peppercorn sauce. The dessert menu features pecan tart, creme brulee and chocolate ganache cake. Guests may bring their own alcoholic beverage. Whispers also offers off-site and on-site catering services. The restaurant is open seven days a week and opens at 5:30 p.m.
