Once called a "charming town" by Oscar Wilde, Worthing is a seaside resort town on the Sussex coast in England. Go walking on the South Downs, lawn bowling at Beach House Park or admire the rare plants at Highdown Gardens. Further afield, walk the chalk cliffs of Beachy Head or head inland to hike in the Ashdown Forest. Worthing itself is home to a Bronze Age fort, Castle Goring and Worthing Pier. Another popular ocean side hotel is the Burlington. Built in 1865, it boasts traditional English architecture and atmosphere but thoroughly modern accommodation and service. The hotel's 26 guest rooms boast en suite bath, cable TV, beverage making facilities, high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access, hair dryer and radio. A continental buffet breakfast is included in the room rate but, if you prefer a hot breakfast, a full cooked English breakfast can be ordered for a small additional fee. This three-star hotel is located on the beach front in Worthing and has been owned by the same family for almost half a century. Contemporary in style, yet traditional in service, the Beach Hotel has 79 guest bedrooms.
