Cathay Rendezvous

Cathay Rendezvous serves authentic Chinese cuisine in an elegant, contemporary environment. The restaurant's extensive menu concentrates on mainly Mandarin, Cantonese and Szechuan food with soft shell crab, dim sum, stuffed crab claw, stir-fried chicken with ginger, and sweet and sour king prawns, some of the perennial favorites.

The restaurant is on two floors and seats over 150 people, so you shouldn't have much of a wait if you forget to make a reservation. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing evening meal after a day out walking in Leigh Woods.

New Emperor Court

Located in Clifton Village in Bristol, the independently owned New Emperor Court is making a name for itself with its owner receiving the Chef of the Year Award by Quality Cuisine UK. The restaurant serves Peking, Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine and concentrates on using fresh ingredients to create its authentic Chinese food.

The menu offers either a set menu or a la carte with dishes ranging from crab claw and grilled king prawn to lemon chicken and deep-fried crispy beef with chili. Several vegetarian options are available. New Emperor Court is also popular as a take-out restaurant, if you prefer to eat in your hotel room. The restaurant is ideal for a hearty yet healthy dinner after boating on the River Avon.

Water Sky

Water Sky is an enormous Chinese restaurant that seats more than 400 people. Its authentic Chinese food can be ordered on an a la carte menu, set menu, an all-you-can-eat set menu or a dim sum menu with many options on each.

Try the Baked Mussels with Green Peppers, Prawns Wrapped in Crispy Rice Paper or Sauteed Pork Chops in Honey. The restaurant's wine list too is quite extensive with wines from Chile, France, Spain, South Africa and New Zealand. Tour Bristol's botanic gardens by day and eat at Water Sky at night for a truly spectacular day.
