Las Vegas, Nevada Events and Hotels

Las Vegas, Nevada Events and Hotels
Sometimes referred to as America's playground, Las Vegas is one of the world's favorite destinations for a weekend trip or an annual vacation. Alive 24 hours a day, this desert city has something for everyone, whether it is sports, music, theater or, of course, casinos.

Sports Events

Each year Las Vegas plays host to a variety of exciting sporting events. No matter what kind of sport you are a fan of, Las Vegas is guaranteed to have the event you are looking for. February sees the Las Vegas Classic Volleyball Tournament arrive downtown at the Cashman Center. This is an open event that allows individuals or teams to participate in an organized tournament operated by the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA). Not a sport normally associated with America, the USA Rugby Sevens International Tournament heads into town in February as well. Taking place at the Sam Boyd Stadium, you can catch your favorite teams going head to head in a thrilling competition. Finally the PBR World Cup will be taking place at the Thomas and Mack Center in April. Featuring some of the professional bull riders from around the globe, this is an event not to be missed.

No trip to Las Vegas is complete without taking in a show, and the city has an abundance of world-class acts to choose from. The Blue Man Group have astounded and rocked audiences all over the world with their antics. Now with a residency at the Venetian Resort, you can see why. Often getting members of the audience to participate and playing original musical pieces on instruments they have often created themselves, this is a music event like no other. "Love" by Cirque du Soleil is a brand new live interpretation of the Beatles songbook. With an international cast, the show features renewed mixes of classic songs and jaw-dropping visuals to create a memorable music showcase of one of the most influential bands in the world. The show is staged at the luxury resort, The Mirage, which is located on the main strip.

Hotels

The Venetian is a first-class luxury hotel situated on the strip. As well as hosting the Blue Man Group, it also has shows performed by many other top acts such as comedian David Spade. The Venetian Resort includes shops, swimming pool and a spa among its amenities. Perhaps the most famous feature is its Grand Canal complete with gondolas that you can ride along the water through the resort as if you were in Venice itself.
