Situated between the Massanutten Mountains and the famous Blue Ridge Mountains, the picturesque Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia is bisected by the Shenandoah River. The town of Stanley is in the northeast portion of the valley. Small but memorable, the town is a great place to set up camp while exploring this historic area. The entire state of Virginia is an outdoor lover's paradise, with the Shenandoah valley offering George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park as well as Luray Caverns, the largest cave in the Eastern U.S.

Jordan Hollow Inn

The Jordan Hollow Inn, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is just a few minutes from the Luray Caverns as well as the Shenandoah National Park. The renovated 200-year-old colonial farmhouse the inn offers beautiful views and intimate privacy. This is a couples-only resort (two tenants per room max). They offer eight suites, six main house rooms and six remote cabins. The suites have an excellent view of the Blue Ridge Mountains with queen size beds, a two-person hydro thermo-massage tub, an all season fireplace, flat screen television with DVD/stereo player, and a private bath with a single walk-in shower. Room amenities include a mini refrigerator and a coffee maker. The cabins take it up a notch, offering the same amenities as the suites, with more space and privacy.

White Fence Bed & Breakfast

A former Plantation House, The White Fence, is on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Stanley. Three meadowed acres offer private and romantic accommodations and the inn offers two guest cottages as well as two spacious suites in the main house. All of the rooms/cabins come with fireplaces and a large whirlpool tub and access to free wireless Internet throughout the complex. Breakfast is offered two ways. Either a continental breakfast delivered to your room or a full service complete breakfast in the main house dining room. Either way, the meal is complimentary. Smoking and pets are not permitted at the White Fence.

Milton House Bed & Breakfast

The Milton House Bed and Breakfast, is a Three Diamond award winner from AAA and is near the famous Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive. All rooms have a private bath and fireplace with one of the units having a Jacuzzi tub for two. The log cabins offer their own fireplaces and Jacuzzi. Breakfast is complimentary and serve in the dining room at 9:00 daily or a delivered (continental style) to the rooms. A two-room suite with a fireplace and refrigerator is available in the main house. Rates are reasonable for such a high standard of service and comfort.
