Arlington, Oregon is a city in Gilliam County. It is adjacent to the Columbia River, which flows through seven states and more than 1,200 miles from the Canadian Rockies through Washington. The Columbia River Highway leads to a 620-foot waterfall, Multnomah Falls. Activities include river cruises, camping, hiking and kayaking. Arlington is also near Lake Umatilla and a National Wildlife Refuge where birdwatchers can explore marsh and woodlands. Fishing, boating and regulated deer hunting is permitted in some parts of the Refuge. Although Arlington has only one motel, the adjacent towns of Boardman and Rufus offer reasonably-priced accommodations.

The Village Inn offers 34 rooms with amenities including air conditioning, cable television, direct dial telephones, Wi-Fi and coin laundry. It is located across from Earl Snell Park, which has an area for swimming in a lagoon created by the Columbia River and a small dock for launching canoes.

Rodeway Inn

The Rodeway Inn is located in nearby Boardman on Interstate 84 along the Columbia River. It is less than one mile from Marina Park. The inn is next to three miles of paved walking and biking trails along the river and the Oregon Trail is 15 miles away. There is an outdoor pool and gift shop. Pets are permitted. Amenities include cable satellite television, free high-speed Internet, microwaves and refrigerators. There is no restaurant on site but the La Serenata Family Restaurant is nearby.

Tyee Motel

The Tyee Motel offers units with one to three beds. Most rooms have kitchens, Wi-Fi, and satellite television. A laundry facility is available for guests. The attached lodge accommodates up to ten people and provides a view of the Columbia River. The motel has a backyard where guests can barbecue and a piano in the front room available for playing. Pets are permitted. The John Day Dam is close by and the Maryhill Museum and Winery is a short distance as well.

Rufus Rocks Motel

The Rufus Rocks Motel provides microwaves and refrigerators in the units, television with HBO and parking outside the front door. Although there is no restaurant on site, Bob's Texas T-Bone Restaurant and Frosty's Lounge is a one block walk. You can fish in the nearby Columbia River for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, bass, catfish and chad. There are also opportunities for hunting pheasant, deer, geese and elk. Less than two miles from the motel is a location for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Pets are welcome.
