Historic Deerwoode Lodge

Sitting on 175 acres, Historic Deerwoode Lodge and Brevard Rental Cabins, boasts eight cabins and a lodge. Originally a camp built in 1923, this wildlife preserve on the banks of the French Broad River accepts adults only. Each cabin looks over the river, and offers lake and mountain views. The facilities at Historic Deerwoode Lodge include a lake, ponds, hiking and biking trails, racquetball court, gym, game room, bird sanctuary, campfire circle and a four-hole pasture golf course.

The proprietors of Rushing Water Cabins describe their site as "a haven that invigorates your body, rejuvenates your mind and refreshes your spirit." Four fully furnished cabins--Creekside Cabin, Crooked Cabin, Eagles Nest and the Samuel Lance House--sit among dogwoods, chestnut, pine and fir trees, alongside Steele Creek.
