Thirtynine Hotel
Not even a hotel (the name is their address) Thirtynine aims to fuse East and West through art, food and music (Reference 1). The space is a second story loft restaurant exhibiting local artists and live DJ's. Try classic Spanish tapas such as the Tortilla Espanola (a potato and onion frittata) or the Albondigas-Spanish meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce. Try lots of little bites or check out the larger plates selection. A full-service bar serves beer, wine and specialty cocktails. Thritynine Hotel is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Hiroshi's Eurasian Tapas
Chef Hiroshi Fukui joins his background in a Japanese cuisine with the flavors of France, Italy and Hawaii. Chef Hiroshi takes classic French foods like Foie Gras, glazes it with teriyaki and serves it sushi-style (Reference 2). Or try local Kona Cold Lobster paired with squid-ink pasta and red jalapeno. A master sommelier is on hand to pair your small plates with the appropriate wine. Soups, salads and entree items are available in addition to the tapas menu. Hiroshi's is open for dinner nightly beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Vino Italian Tapas
This casual Honolulu tapas restaurant takes an Italian direction with local island ingredients. Share small plates of artisan cheeses, house breads and cured meats. A house specialty is the fresh local octopus served over a Barolo red wine risotto. The menu changes seasonally to showcase local seasonal fruits and vegetables. A menu with larger portions is available. Consult with sommelier Chuck Furuya (also a champion pool player) about a special wine to accompany your meal. Vino Italian Tapas is closed Sunday through Tuesday.
