O'Hare International is the larger of Chicago's two airports, bringing in visitors from all over the world to enjoy area outdoor activities like biking, sailing, hiking and skiing. O'Hare is close to restaurants in the towns surrounding the airport, mainly in Rosemont and Lombard to the north. Visitors will have no trouble finding plenty of quality locations to fill up before they head into or out of the city.

Cafe La Cave Restaurant

Just north of O'Hare is Cafe La Cave, which focuses on French cuisine. Cold appetizers include dishes like chilled oysters, while hot appetizers like escargot Bourguignonne are offered as well. Soups and salads are offered as lighter fare, but full entrees are included in the Cafe La Cave Signature Selections portion of the menu. These hearty dishes include Chilean sea bass with tomato mascarpone fondue or a rack of lamb with a mustard and bread crumb crust. An extensive wine list is also available. The unusual dining area is designed to give customers the feeling of being inside a cave, with dimmed lighting and intricately carved pillars and walls.

Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse

This restaurant is a favorite among Chicago visitors for its sports memorabilia adorning every wall. Harry Caray's features an extensive list of steaks and chops, including everything from lamb chops to a New York strip. A selection of Italian dishes is offered as well, including rigatoni with vodka sauce, chicken Marsala and eggplant Parmigiana. An interesting menu feature is the wide variety of delicious side items, including sauteed mushrooms, Vesuvio potatoes and creamed spinach. This restaurant also offers an extensive wine list.

Ram Restaurant & Brewery

The Ram is both casual and family-friendly. Starters like a barbecued chicken quesadilla or nachos deluxe could be a meal by themselves. Salads are entree-sized and include interesting combinations like the Thai chicken salad with wonton strips, fried noodles, pineapple-mango salsa and a peanut ginger dressing. Steaks and seafood dishes are available here, as well as a wide selection of burgers. A wine and cocktail menu is available, and The Ram also has its own brewery.

Carlucci Restaurant

Carlucci specializes in Italian cuisine served in an upscale setting. A full bar offers cocktails and Italian wines. Delicious appetizers like bruschetta with goat cheese, olives, grape tomatoes and mozzarella start out the menu. Handmade pastas come in many varieties, including tortellini stuffed with roasted chicken and ricotta; tagliolini wiith broccoli and mushrooms in a brown butter sauce; and fettuccini with diced beef tenderloin in a tomato caper sauce. Whole wheat and gluten-free pasta are available upon request. Steak, chicken and seafood dishes are on the menu as well. Reservations are suggested.
