Sebastian sits between Vero Beach and Melbourne on the east coast of Florida. Sebastian Inlet State Park offers three miles of beaches for swimming, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. From the jetties, you can fish for redfish, Spanish mackerel and snook. The park also has a mile-long Hammock Trail for hiking and biking, and Avalon State Park has a mile-long beach for swimming, fishing and picnicking.

Captain Hiram's Restaurant

A restaurant surrounded by palm trees and located on the bank of the Indian River, Captain Hiram's Restaurant offers open-air patio seating or air-conditioned indoor seating and serves lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located on the grounds of a resort with a marina, a gift shop, two full-service bars and the Entertainment Grand Sand Bandstand, which features live entertainment.
The menu lists 16 "shareable appetizers," such as Captain Jim's famous crab cake, lobster nuggets and conch fritters. Martin's raw bar includes steamed New England mussels and steamed spiced shrimp. The entree salads and soups include a captain's salad with grilled shrimp and Maryland style crab soup. The fresh, off-the-boat local catch is prepared to order and can be broiled, char-grilled or fried. The seafood entrees include shrimp scampi, stuffed flounder, mahi tropical, salmon and grilled jumbo shrimp. The menu also features chicken, ribs, steak, sandwiches and burgers, along with wines such as cabernet, merlot, chardonnay and champagne. Captain Hirman's also offers a kid's menu.

Squid Lips-Sebastian

Squid Lips-Sebastian juts out over the Indian River and offers an expansive water view. Specialties include chicken, seafood and steaks. Grilled foods are cooked over an oak fire, giving the food a subtle wood flavoring. Squid Lips can accommodate private parties of up to 30 guests.
Upon request, the restaurant can prepare your seafood entree "low carb-it!" style with double vegetables, salad dressing on the side, and no bread or starch. The raw bar has an assortment of mussels, sashimi scallops, shrimp, clams and oysters in steamed, raw, or chilled combinations. You can start with over 17 appetizers, including coconut shrimp, lobster and crab cake, cracked conch and Baja fish tacos. Squid Lips offers 15 types of sandwiches, including Cuban, pulled pork, citrus salmon and mahi parmesan. The 26 entrees include stuffed shrimp, skewered grilled shrimp, Thai mahi (grilled) and Islamorada redfish. Squid Lips is open for lunch and dinner.

The Pig and Whistle Pub

The Pig and Whistle Pub, a British pub fish and chip shop, serves 12 flavors of chicken wings including raspberry poppy, Jamaican jerk, mango poppy and Cajun. The lean side of The Pig, as in The Pig and Whistle Pub, has house salad with scoops of chicken, grilled chicken or tuna. Burgers made with Boar's Head sirloin; the Sebastian Burger is smothered with mushrooms, onions and peppers and topped with mozzarella.
House specialties include fish and chips, chicken and chips, jumbo buffalo shrimp and Bobby's buffalo scallop dinner. A kid's menu with grilled cheese sandwich and fish and chips is available. The Pig and Whistle Pub serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday through Sunday.
