Tinton Falls is a unique borough of New Jersey which holds the highest waterfall in the state, thus giving it its name. Recreational opportunities are plentiful here, from softball, basketball, tennis, trails, walking paths, nature preserves and more. When the outdoors get old, the area is always fresh with great shopping areas and plenty of restaurants, giving both locals and visitors plenty to see and do.

Falls Restaurant & Lounge

The Falls Restaurant & Lounge is an interesting restaurant. While it is both classy and romantic, it also offers a children's menu to make it family-friendly. There is a banquet room for large parties or special occasions, and the upstairs offers a lounge for sports bar type enjoyment. Some of the favorite dishes here include the 22 oz. bone-in Rib-eye and the Jumbo Scallops with a roasted peach wilted spinach asparagus risotto. Sunday through Thursday, the restaurant has a special where guests can make a reservation one day in advance and buy one entrée to get one entrée free. This restaurant makes a great date night or family night out.

Portofino Ristorante

The Portofino Ristorante is an upscale and authentic Italian restaurant which offers dishes that make guests' mouths water. The menu is extensive and also includes a wide selection of specials. While the restaurant is somewhat expensive, the portions are not very large, so diners should be prepared to order one of their many appetizer selections as well. Some of the favorites on this menu include the eggplant with proscuitto and fresh mozzarella appetizer, the gnocchi with bolognese sauce, or the tiramisu for dessert. All dishes here are homemade so if there is something that diners don't like, they can always ask for it without.

Mumford's Culinary Center

At the Mumford's Culinary Center, guests get a truly unique dining experience. For breakfast or lunch, it is recommended to stop by to try the student chefs' menu selections. Favorites for breakfast include Eggs and House-Smoked Salmon or the Black Forest Ham and Mushroom Frittata. For lunch, there are hot and cold sandwhiches. Dinner has select tasting sessions, most of which diners must reserve in advance. Diners get a recipe of whatever they try to take home with them. The Culinary Center also offers catering, and if diners really enjoy what they see, they can sign themselves up for a class or two.

The owners here have a knack for providing an at home atmosphere, with a familiar and family-friendly vibe. The sandwiches are loved by all, with favorites being the Pork Roll and the Bacon Egg and Cheese. Soups and Salads are also on the menu, which gives more selections to picky eaters. This deli is a great choice for those looking for quick eaters or those looking to grab a bite and a good conversation.
