Mooresville, North Carolina Italian Restaurants

Mooresville, North Carolina Italian Restaurants
Mooresville is known as "Race City USA" because more than 60 NASCAR teams and racing-related businesses are headquartered in the town. Located just north of Charlotte in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Mooresville is bordered on its southern and western sides by Lake Norman, the state's largest man-made lake with 520 miles of shoreline. Many recreational activities can be found in and around Lake Norman, including boating, fishing, hiking and jet-skiing. After spending a day on the lake, enjoy a meal at one of the many area Italian restaurants in the area.

Pomodoro's

Tucked away in a strip mall, Pomodoro's is much more than its unassuming outside appearance. The menu is full of subs, pizza and pasta dishes. The décor, complete with paper napkins and inexpensive silverware, might seem more fitting for a straight sandwich-and-pizza joint, but the food will make you think you booked a first-class flight to Italy. The locally owned restaurant is popular with locals, so expect a short wait at times. Don't worry, though, the portions are generous enough that you're certain to leave with leftovers.

Tony's Pizza

Italian-born friends Tony and Mario own several pizza places in North Carolina serving what they call "authentic New York-style pizza." The pizza dough is made fresh daily and is then hand-tossed and stretched. Most of the main ingredients such as the pepperoni is shipped from New York to ensure the pizza retains its "authentic" taste. Sicilian pizza, calzones, and baked ravioli are just a few of the menu items available for takeout or to eat in the dining area.

Brooklyn Boys Neighborhood Pizzeria

Situated in the Morrison Plantation shopping center, Brooklyn Boys is the equally popular northern location of the local favorite Brooklyn South Neighborhood Pizzeria in nearby Cornelius. Both locations focus on flavor when it comes to their calzones, lasagna, or pizza by the slice. There's no white-glove service here. Order at the counter and a server brings food to the table. Servings of lasagna, ravioli and other pastas are large enough to share, or to take home for later. The interior is decorated with reproduction New York subway signs and is filled with plenty of tables and booths. Take-out service is quick, even during busy times.
