Italian Restaurants in Elmwood Park, Illinois
Though its very much a part of the Chicago suburbs, Elmwood Park also sits between two interesting destinations for outdoor enthusiasts. One is Lake Michigan, which is just to the east of Elmwood Park, with Lincoln Park on the shore. The other attraction is the Chevalier Woods, part of the Cook County Woodland Preserve. Both spots are great for hikers, walkers and cyclists. Elmwood Park sits on the northwest side of Chicago and is home to some interesting Italian restaurants for visitors.

Trattoria Peppino‎

Trattoria Peppino‎ is an authentic, older Chicago Italian restaurant with a cozy front dining room and banquet room with seating for 30 in the back. Trattoria Peppino relies on old favorites and some unique items on the menu. One that many patrons talk about is Peppino Puffs, an appetizer consisting of a cooked ball of shredded zucchini and Italian cheese. Another signature dish is the baby shells Peppino, which comes cooked with broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes. Trattoria Peppino also serves fresh seafood dishes, including clams with angel hair pasta and linguini with calamari. Diners also have choices of pizza and hot sandwiches.
