Trattoria Peppino
Trattoria Peppino is an authentic, older Chicago Italian restaurant with a cozy front dining room and banquet room with seating for 30 in the back. Trattoria Peppino relies on old favorites and some unique items on the menu. One that many patrons talk about is Peppino Puffs, an appetizer consisting of a cooked ball of shredded zucchini and Italian cheese. Another signature dish is the baby shells Peppino, which comes cooked with broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes. Trattoria Peppino also serves fresh seafood dishes, including clams with angel hair pasta and linguini with calamari. Diners also have choices of pizza and hot sandwiches.

Jim & Pete's Restaurant has been in the Elmwood Park neighborhood since the 1940s and features a varied and interesting menu. The restaurant itself is set around a big bar in the dining room. The interior reflects the age of the restaurant and is filled with memorabilia of the neighborhood. The food is focused on pizza, with traditional Chicago style deep dish and nearly 20 topping choices. But Jim & Pete's also has BBQ ribs, tripe, clams and Italian pasta on the menu.

Amato's Pizzeria
Amato's Pizzeria is a small chain of four pizza restaurants serving Chicago. More focused on takeout and delivery, there are a few tables set up to serve customers in the Elmwood Park storefront, but the emphasis is more on food than atmosphere. Amato's serves the signature Chicago deep dish pizza. The house specials include the Amato's Classic, with sausage, mushrooms, green pepper and onion, and the Molti Gusti ("everything") pizza with sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, onion, mushroom, olives and tomato. Pizzas can even come with double crust or stuffed crust.
