Gilbert is a growing community located 20 miles from Phoenix. The town is near several RV parks and campgrounds and is a great stopping point for those visiting Phoenix and the surrounding desert area. Phoenix is home to museums, fine dining, professional sports teams and an active nightlife. Near Gilbert, you will find biking and hiking trails, golf courses and a host of city events and activities. It is a popular retirement town with limited tent camping, and many of the RV parks cater to seniors.

Superstition Sunrise RV Resort

The resort is located in Apache Junction, 18 miles from Gilbert. It has large spaces with hookups for 50 amps, water, sewer and satellite television. It has indoor and outdoor heated pools and spas, billiards, shuffleboard, a ballroom, Internet and more. The park is pet-friendly and has community events and organized tours.

Twin Palms RV

Located in Mesa, this park is a four-mile drive from Gilbert. It has large shaded spaces that will accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. It has hookups for water, sewer and 20, 30 and 50 amps. It also offers cable television, wireless Internet and showers. The park is pet-friendly.

Lost Dutchman State Park

This is the closest park to Gilbert--20 miles away--that offers RV and tent sites. It is a state-run park and does not have any hookups. It has 70 sites with picnic tables, barbecue grills, a dump station and a community shower facility. It is pet-friendly, but leashes are required. The park holds hiking and biking trails, offering the chance for wildlife viewing.
