Visitors to California know that Coronado is a special destination. Located two miles away from downtown San Diego across the Coronado Bay Bridge, this quaint community is home to water lovers and outdoor adventurists. Although the Victorian-style Hotel Del Coronado is the most famous attraction, Coronado is also dazzling for its 15 miles of beachfront roads and paved paths where you can walk, bike or run along the ocean. Many visitors also take advantage of the water activities available year-round like jet-skiing, wake-boarding and boating as well as many outdoor community events such as Art in the Park. Il Fornaio takes special care to plan the seasonal menus according to recipes culled from more than two dozen Italian chefs. Menu favorites include fresh creative salads as well as the savory antipasti della casa, a sampler plate of its signature appetizers. In addition to the traditional pasta dishes, other popular items are the wood-fired oven pizzas made with imported mozzarella from Italy and the rotisserie meats. All the meals are served with homemade fresh bread. Be sure to leave room for the dessert trio sampler offering up a taste of chocolate mousse, tiramisu and crepes with ice cream.
