The local wildlife around Savannah is fascinating and exotic, and there are many places to see it up close. The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, just north of the city, offers vistas of marsh and canals with an abundant variety of birds. The four mile Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive through the refuge offers many glimpses of the resident alligators. In Savannah, at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center, you can visit with alligators, Sandhill cranes, brown pelicans and nine-banded armadillos, as well as many other species of wildlife. To continue an exotic day, Savannah is home to many Chinese restaurants that serve authentic and unique dishes.

Bamboo Garden

Loyal diners rave about the quick, efficient and friendly service at Bamboo Garden, located on the south side of town near Armstrong Atlantic State University. Lunch specials are especially affordable for college students or anyone on a budget, and the specials menu is large. Several dishes are made with rice noodles, including Singapore angel hair, and many of the menu items cans be ordered spicy. Mongolian dishes, garlic sauced and curry sauced items dot the menu. As well as standard appetizers, you can find steamed dumplings, skewered steak and sweet biscuits for a more authentic dining experience. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Wang's II

Wang's II is located in the Midtown neighborhood of Savannah and serves Hunan and Szechuan food. The restaurant's signature dishes are not found in any other Chinese restaurants in Savannah, and include wok-seared tenderloin with mushrooms and spinach, and a crispy chicken breast with a citrus lemon sauce. There are several choices for family dinners, and there are some fresh and interesting seafood options, such as a seafood nest and a braised fish filet with pine nuts. The restaurant has a full bar and a long list of specials. Take out and delivery are offered, and lunch and dinner are available every day of the week.

Peking House Restaurant

The menu at Peking House Restaurant is extensive with dishes from a variety of Chinese cooking styles, like Hunan, Szechuan, Mandarin and Cantonese. The presence of Hunan and Szechuan dishes on the menu means that if you like spicy food, you won't be disappointed. Some of the hot dishes include curry shrimp with onions, orange chicken, Kung Pao beef, Hunan chicken and cold noodles with sesame sauce. All of the standard Chinese-American dishes are served here as well as several more authentic Chinese dishes for more adventurous diners. Lunch specials are very reasonably priced, and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week.
